July
2009 - Still two more eye surgeries scheduled, however the fools at
Nevada DMV issued me a new license, one without restrictions for wearing
glasses. For a guy who has had to put on his glasses to pee since 1948
this is quite a change. In any event I am able to see the computer
screen now and have almost caught up on the backlog here on ExReps.

Stem cells used to restore sight for corneal disease sufferers. Although the novel technique was used to reverse blinding corneal disease, it promises to be a quick, painless and cheap treatment for other visual disorders. It may even be useful for repairing damaged skin, the researchers reported today in the journal Transplantation.
The CrunchPad is a linux-based touchscreen tablet using a browser-based UI. When you turn the unit on, it boots right into the webkit-based browser. There's a pop-up virtual keyboard for entering URLs and such (you wouldn't want to do any significant typing on it) and scrolling is via swiping the screen. When Arrington first visualized the project he was shooting for a $200 price point
